    SIA Licensing

    To work as a Security Officer, you’ll need a valid SIA Licence. At Securitas, we support two clear paths to help you get there — whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on your experience.

    Routes to working with us in security

    As an approved contractor, we ensure each one of our security professionals are ready to deliver exceptional service to our clients - we provide industry leading training and ensure each professional has an SIA licence, ready to help make the world a safer place.

    There are two routes to obtaining an SIA licence:

    “I have an SIA Licence already”

    We often have people join us with an SIA Licence already, and that's our route 1 -

    • Hold a licence
    • Undertake our refresher course (Every 3 years, the length of your course will depend on the licence you hold)
    • Be ready to work on-site

    “But, what if I don’t have a Licence yet?”

    We’re glad you asked! We are always open to new security professionals joining Securitas, that’s why we have our route 2 -

    • Complete your first aid training (with us)
    • Complete a 1 week Security Guard course - 4 days online training and 1 day classroom based.
    • Be ready to work on-site with our clients!
