We at Securitas Group respect your integrity.

This privacy notice ("Privacy Notice") is applicable to the processing of your personal data that you submit to us through this website in order to receive information and materials from us. The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to provide users of this website (jointly referred to as "users" or "you") with information on how Securitas Group processes the personal data you share with us.. It also tells you how you can access and update your personal data and make certain choices about how your personal data is used.

This Privacy Notice also applies to Securitas marketing content, including offers and advertisements for Securitas products and services, which we (or a service provider acting on our behalf) send to you on third-party websites, platforms and applications based on your site usage information. These third-party websites, as well as third-party websites to which links may be provided on this website, generally have their own privacy notices. We encourage you to read them before using those websites. The Securitas Group is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of such websites.

Responsibility for the processing of personal data

Securitas Security Services (UK) Ltd ("Securitas", "we" or "us") is the controller of personal data processing. This means that Securitas is responsible to ensure processing is compliant with applicable laws in relation to personal data.

Categories of personal data

The following information will be processed when you request information from us.

Contact information:

  • surname,
  • company,
  • country,
  • your message to us,
  • information provided by you via chatbot,
  • answers to self-assessment available on the website

Browsing Information:

  • IP address​ (including information about the company that provides the IP address)
  • device ID​
  • user profile: interaction with Securitas website: (clicks, browsing (pages, articles that have been opened by user), mouse movement, scrolling, events/user intents (exit intents) type of end device, the type of browser, the operating system user is using, the language set in the operating system user is using.​

How we collect your personal data

We may collect personal data from a below sources:

  • Personal data you give us directly. We collect data about how you use our services, such as the types of content you view or engage with, or the frequency and duration of your activities. We also collect personal data you provide us when you fill in the contact form or self-assessment or when you interact with our chatbot or complete a survey.
  • Personal data we collect automatically. We also receive and store certain types of personal data whenever you interact with us online. For example, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to obtain personal data when your web browser accesses our websites or advertisements and other content served by or on behalf of Securitas on other websites. During some of your internet browsing on Securitas websites we may also use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We may also collect technical information to help us identify your device for fraud prevention and diagnostic purposes.
  • Personal data we collect from other sources. We collect personal data from other sources including our trusted partnerships with third-parties. For example, we receive information about you and other visitors’ interactions with our advertising to measure whether our advertising is relevant and successful.

Profiling

Securitas uses your personal data to build profiles. We create profiles by analysing the information about your online behaviour and your interactions with Securitas communications by creating groups that have certain common characteristics and by placing your personal data in one or more groups (also called segments). These segments are used by Securitas to show relevant content to you when you visit our website, and to display relevant offers and advertisements from Securitas on the local Securitas sites, and via third-party websites. Securitas profiles your data where you have provided consent for us to do so; for example, accepting the setting of cookies and similar technologies via our cookie banner.

You can withdraw your consent to prevent your personal data being used this way at any time using the Cookie Settings (Cookie Preferences) tool available in the footer of our website. To learn more about deleting cookies, please see our Cookie Policy.

By way of example Securitas collects data, with your consent, from:

  • Our websites about what you view and the way you interact with our content;
  • Our digital display advertising that we serve to you on social platforms and other third party’s websites;

We use this data to understand your preferences. For instance, if we see that you are regularly viewing articles dedicated to small and medium enterprises on our website, and you clicked on our advertisement for small and medium enterprises we may tailor our web content towards things we think you’ll be most interested in.

Based on this profile information, we may also give you advertising that we think you will like and want to see as you view content from us or from third parties that we advertise with.

Who do we share your personal data with?

Service Providers and Subcontractors: Your personal data will be processed by our service providers and/or subcontractors (including but not limited to data storage service providers, production development agencies, customer research and operations management companies, technical support and maintenance of the service as well as analytics companies) on instruction from Securitas. All service providers and subcontractors act as Securitas personal data processors and are under contractual arrangements only allowed to process data for the purposes as set out above. Furthermore, the personal data processor (service provider or subcontractor) and those acting under instructions of the processor will not access more personal data than is required for the performance of the service covered by the agreement with Securitas.

Securitas Group: Your personal data may be processed by companies within the Securitas Group that provide services to Securitas in relation to your request such as product development, support and administration. In such case, Securitas Group companies act as Securitas personal data processor or joint controller with Securitas. The personal data processor or join controller may only process personal data in accordance with the purposes or instructions provided by Securitas for the processing. Furthermore, the personal data processor (Securitas Group company) and those acting under instructions of the processor will not access more personal data than is required for the performance of the service covered by the agreement with Securitas.

Government agencies: Securitas may share your personal data with government agencies (such as the police, the tax authority or other authorities) if we are required by law to do so, or if you have agreed that we do so. We may also share your personal data with government agencies when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to protect our rights, protect your security or the safety of others, investigate crimes, or respond to a government request. Government agencies that receive your personal data will be the data controller for such processing, which means that it is not Securitas who governs how your personal data, if shared with an authority, is processed. Thus, if your personal data is shared with authorities, this Privacy Notice will not cover that processing.

Other third-parties: Your personal data will also be used by us or shared with our advertisers, social media networks, in connection with marketing, advertising as well as product and services information. Securitas will not sell, trade or in other ways forward your personal data to other third-parties without your consent.

Where we are processing your personal data

Securitas Group companies:

We may process your personal data outside of the country in which you are based (including countries outside the EU/EEA) for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice. When we transfer your personal data to other countries, we take reasonable steps to ensure that applicable laws are being followed. We will only transfer your personal data to a country outside the EU/EEA where; (i) the EU Commission has decided that the third country ensures an adequate level of protection, or (ii) where the transfer is being safeguarded by the use of EU model clauses or by other legal mechanism under Article 46.2 in the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679 ("GDPR")).

We may transfer your personal data to our subsidiaries or affiliated companies established in any of the countries (including so-called third countries) listed on a web page that you can access by clicking on the globe icon in the upper right-hand corner of this website.

Third party service providers: The personal data that we collect from you will be transferred to and processed by a third party service provider established in a country outside the EU/EEA (i.e. a so-called third country), including countries which the EU Commission does not consider to have an adequate level of protection for personal data. In such case we will take all necessary steps required under applicable law in order for such transfer of your personal data across borders to be compliant with applicable law. We will only transfer your personal data to a country outside the EU/EEA where; (i) the EU Commission has decided that the third country ensures an adequate level of protection, or (ii) where the transfer is being safeguarded by the use of EU model clauses or by other legal mechanism under Article 46.2 GDPR.

How we protect your data

Securitas takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data and Securitas is constantly working to protect your personal data from accidental or unlawful destruction, loss or alteration, unauthorized disclosure of or unauthorized access to the personal data transferred, stored or otherwise processed by Securitas.

Your rights

We respect your integrity and your rights under legislation related to the processing of personal data. The rights you have mean that you can request a copy of the personal data we process about you, you can request incorrect information about you to be corrected and even under certain conditions you can request erasure of information. You may also in some cases have the right to object to Securitas' processing of your personal data and to exercise your right to data portability. Changes to this Privacy Notice

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Notice. If we make any changes to this Privacy Notice, we will notify you by announcing the update of the Privacy Notice online or in another appropriate manner inform you of the updated version. This Privacy Notice was last updated on 21st February 2024. We will also keep prior versions of this Privacy Notice in an archive for your review.
