📅 Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off

As a Security Team Leader, you will work closely with the Senior Supervisor to lead and support the security officers, ensuring smooth operations across the site. Acting as deputy for the Senior Supervisor when required, the Security Team Leader will welcome and assist staff, visitors, and contractors, conduct regular safety and security patrols, and ensure compliance with all security regulations and procedures. You’ll support emergency protocols, maintain accurate records, and assist with reception duties during peak periods. As a Security Team Leader, your vigilance and leadership will be key to preventing disruptions and upholding the highest standards of security.
Job Description
Role Purpose
The Security Team Leader (Nights) is responsible for overseeing security operations, ensuring compliance with protocols, and managing the security team to maintain a safe and secure environment. This role is a key part of the Visitor Services and Security management team, supervising Controllers and Security Officers to uphold high standards of safety, integrity, and visitor service across exhibitions, buildings, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Security Team Leader, you will supervise and coordinate security personnel, ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and legal requirements. You’ll manage incidents, emergency responses, and alarm activations, while providing operational support and acting as the primary contact during night shifts. Responsibilities include conducting patrols, monitoring CCTV, overseeing post rotations, welfare checks, and performance monitoring. You’ll train and mentor team members, prepare documentation, and assist with reception duties when needed. Additional tasks include troubleshooting security systems, managing visitor protocols, and supporting staff training. Required Qualifications & Skills
- Valid SIA licence or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of security protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively under pressure.
- Proficiency in security systems and visitor management software.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high alertness.
- Experience in issue and conflict resolution.
- Capability to manage reception duties alongside security responsibilities
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in a security supervisory role.
- Proven track record in managing security teams and handling emergencies.
- Familiarity with advanced surveillance technologies.
