Join our professional security team with proven experience in datacentre operations, the wider security industry, or equivalent forces/services background. Previous leadership skills are essential to the success of this role as you blend contunity and clear processes across embedded and centralised teams, responsible for shaping a high-performance across you team of administrative officers, responders, and other security personnel in a large scale datacenter environment.
Reporting directly to the Campus Security Manager (CSM), you’ll collaborate with other Security Team Managers across the campus to ensure a safe and secure environment. Your role will also include client service and problem resolution, service enhancement, Security Operations Centre (SOC) systems maintenance, audit compliance, system monitoring, log maintenance, and access rights management.

Job Description
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing and leading the on‑site security team, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, day‑to‑day supervision, ongoing training, and long‑term development to ensure a confident, capable workforce.
- Coaching and supporting staff performance, providing feedback, guidance, and corrective action when needed, and ensuring all disciplinary processes are followed in line with company policy.
- Ensuring responders and control room supervisors operate in full compliance with procedures, stepping in to provide hands‑on support during peak activity, complex incidents, or staff absences.
- Monitoring site health, performance metrics, and operational goals, working closely with the Campus Security Manager (CSM) to identify improvements and enhance overall team effectiveness.
- Conducting regular audits, completing accurate reports, and submitting confidential information to client management in a timely, professional, and compliant manner.
- Overseeing and maintaining site security systems and technology, ensuring equipment remains fully functional, up to date, and aligned with safety and compliance standards.
- Supporting equipment inspections, ensuring audit readiness, and maintaining clear, accurate security documentation to meet both internal and client requirements.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for datacentre management and security personnel when the CSM is unavailable, providing clear direction and informed decision‑making.
- Identifying safety issues, operational risks, and security vulnerabilities, escalating concerns promptly and recommending practical solutions to strengthen site resilience.

Qualifications
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:
- A valid SIA licence.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
- The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.
- Excellent knowledge of 24-hour security operations, supervisory practices, and incident response.
- 5+ years in security or business management; datacentre experience a plus, Security is highly desired.
- Proven management skills with ability to recruit, train, coach, and discipline staff.
- Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office; experience with CCTV, access control, and incident management systems.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written), professionalism, and customer service with a “white glove” attitude.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations.
