Job Description

🔐 Responsibilities

Protection of Property and Premises

• Prevent and deter unauthorised access to the site.
• Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV systems as appropriate.
• Conduct external and internal security patrols in line with Assignment Instructions.
• Provide traffic control and apply parking restrictions where required.
• Carry out routine tests of security equipment as necessary.
• Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties in accordance with Assignment Instructions.
• Ensure all equipment provided by the customer and Securitas is handled and maintained in line with agreed procedures.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and records as required by Assignment Instructions.
• Issue visitor and contractor passes in accordance with site procedures.
• Handle lost property in line with Assignment Instructions.

Health and Safety

• Provide support, guidance, and information to staff, visitors, and contractors while ensuring the safety and security of the premises.
• Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Identify, record, and report faults, health and safety hazards, and unsafe working practices to the supervisor or manager.
• Report and record all accidents in accordance with Assignment Instructions.
• Ensure all walkways and emergency escape routes remain clear at all times.
• Report any use of First Aid equipment and any shortages within First Aid boxes.
• Notify the Securitas Operations Centre (SOC) of any emergencies and follow all instructions given.
• Investigate and establish the cause of all fire alarm activations.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who sees a different world—someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A valid SIA licence (or be actively working towards acquiring one).
• The right to work in the UK, with a five‑year checkable employment history, or the ability to provide documentary evidence for any periods of unemployment, self‑employment, or full‑time/part‑time education during that time.
• Be over 18 years of age.
•  No current criminal convictions.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.
• Demonstrate the ability to embody and uphold Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.
• A professional, customer‑focused approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Be punctual, reliable, and professional at all times.
• Be flexible and willing to work shift patterns, including days, nights, and weekends.
• A full UK driving licence and access to own transport is desirable.
