Grade: Site Based
To provide a Security Officer service at the working location in line with the Assignment Instructions and customer requirements in order to protect the customerâs employees, property, and other assets.
To deliver the highest levels of customer service as a Security Officer, which consistently demonstrate Securitasâ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.
NB: The prospective Security Officer must have acquired the full SIA licence before being able to start work on operational shifts.
- Valid SIA SG license or above
- Strong frontâofâhouse skills
- IT literate
- Relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated experience working alone and during night shifts
- Able to commute within a 30âminute drive
- Selfâmotivated and reliable
- Proven experience of working nights

Responsibilities
Protection of Property and Premises
- As a Security Officer, prevent and deter unauthorised access to site. Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV as appropriate.
- Conduct external and internal security patrols as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Provide traffic control and apply parking restrictions as required.
- Carry out routine tests of security equipment where appropriate as a Security Officer.
- Manage keys and perform locking and unlocking duties as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Ensure any equipment provided by the customer and Securitas is managed in accordance with procedures detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Maintain all logbooks and records as detailed in the Assignment Instructions.
- Issue visitor/contractor passes in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
- Deal with lost property in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
Health and Safety
- Provide support, guidance, and information to all staff, visitors, and contractors whilst ensuring safeguarding of the premises.
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times. Record and report all faults, health and safety hazards, and unsafe working practices to the supervisor/manager. Report and record all accidents in accordance with the Assignment Instructions.
- Ensure all walkways and emergency escape routes are always kept clear.
- Report any usage of First Aid equipment and shortfalls in the contents of First Aid boxes.
- Notify the Securitas Operations Centre (SOC) in the event of any emergencies and follow the instructions given by the Security Officer control procedures.
- Investigate the cause of all fire alarm activations.

Qualifications
What weâre looking for:
Weâre looking for someone who sees a different worldâsomeone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, youâll have:
- A valid SIA licence.
- Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
- Strong communication skills in Englishâboth written and spoken.
- Must be working towards acquiring a valid Security Officer SIA Licence.
- Must have the right to work in the UK as a Security Officer.
- Must be over 18 to undertake the role of Security Officer.
- Have a five-year checkable employment history or be able to produce documentary evidence of any period of unemployment, self-employment, or full and part-time education during that period relevant to a Security Officer role.
- No current criminal convictions.
- A full UK driving licence and own transport is desirable.
- The ability to embody and uphold the Securitas core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness as a Security Officer.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
- Be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Be punctual and reliable.
- Be willing and able to work shifts covering days, nights, and weekends as a Security Officer.
- Desirable
- Prior experience as a Security Officer in the security industry is desirable.
- A First Aid qualification would be advantageous.
