Securitas UK has announced it has won gold at this year’s RoSPA awards – for the 19th year in a row as well as awards for fleet safety. RoSPA (the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) delivers an awards programme for health and safety to help reduce avoidable accidents, whether at work, on the road, or at home.
The gold award, presented by RoSPA, demonstrates sustained excellence in health and safety. The business also maintained an Order of Distinction as a result of more than 15 consecutive gold awards. Additionally, Securitas Technology received its first gold award in the UK.
The partnership with the awards organiser highlights a dedication to improvement around health and safety awareness and an exceptional commitment to the well-being of employees, clients, and customers.
The gold achievements are a result of a series of programmes internally that deliver health and safety training to core groups across the organisation, as well as a wider provision that delivers training to all colleagues in the UK. A consistent approach to training demonstrates a clear priority, putting safety at the heart of the business.
Through the training programmes, employees are enabled to spot and avoid injuries in all types of work settings, mitigating the impact of lost time due to accidents. Continuous improvements in the promotion of health and safety on client sites also take the form of robust workplace inspections and assessments.
Phil Thomas, Director of Health & Safety, Securitas UK, said: “We are delighted to maintain our gold award status from RoSPA for such a long time. This accreditation is a testament to our ongoing commitment to keep our colleagues and customers safe.
As the security needs of our customers change, due to the shifts in our society and advances in technology, health and safety protocols must be agile enough to adapt to meet the needs of our personnel on the front line.”
