Enhancing customer experience with augmented reality
22 February 2018
In 2017, Securitas UK launched LEAD - an augmented reality (AR) app, with booklet, that brings each of the six Securitas protective services to life.
Gone are the days of the standard company brochure, and at Securitas technology is used to engage with customers and potential customers in a fresh and exciting way. LEAD is the first AR booklet of its kind in the security industry.
LEAD was created in partnership with agency Engine Creative. Free to download on the App Store and Google Play, viewers can scan pages in the booklet to hear direct from two Securitas Protective Service Officers (PSOs) in addition to watching short video clips on each service. The video content was filmed in a green screen studio and edited/optimised for AR by the team at Engine Creative. LEAD is just one example of Securitas using technology to innovate.
Also in 2017, Securitas worked with training partner, Real Training, to develop a fire training virtual reality (VR) tool, available to see at the Customer Experience Centre in Milton Keynes. Using a VR headset and customised fire equipment, participants are trained to tackle and extinguish virtual fire incidents in a series of designed environments that reflect real life, including hotel rooms, airplanes and offices. The City & Guilds accredited training will save time, money and resources as it can be delivered in a workplace/meeting room location and adapted to focus on a range of hazard scenarios.
