Stay safe, Britain

19 September 2017

Following the recent attack in Parsons Green, the joint terror analysis centre increased the terrorism threat level to the UK from severe to critical.

As a result, the government carried out additional counter-terrorism operations around the country to help protect people in public places.

At Securitas, we took the decision to proactively support the emergency services and military operations by asking our Protective Services Officers to provide additional patrols at transport hubs across the UK.

Helping hand

Over the weekend – 16-17 September 2017 – our teams completed an additional 223 patrols, in addition to their normal security duties, providing visible, uniformed reassurance and completing security patrols in crowded places.

We co-ordinated these activities through our Securitas UK Operations Centre (SOC) and from the moment we made the decision, our mobile teams immediately provided on-the-ground support.

At Securitas, we pride ourselves on providing total security – protecting people and property. In a world of ever-present security threats, we all have an increasingly important role in keeping each other safe, too.

Be vigilant

The current threat level for international terrorism in the UK has dropped from critical to severe, however we encourage everyone to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour or activity to the Anti-Terrorism Hotline on 0800 789 321. In an emergency, call 999.
