Meet our people: Kevin

Kevin is a mobile driver

Name: Kevin
Job title: Mobile driver
Joined Securitas: 2018

As a mobile driver Kevin patrols local areas, locks and unlocks client buildings and responds to alarms.

To be a great mobile driver Kevin explained “You need to like driving and be good at it, but most importantly, you need to have great communication skills as radio commands are crucial. You need a strong sense of direction and a very methodological approach. Plenty of common sense, and being able to make decisions on your own are other important factors.”

Is it a role for someone who likes to work on their own? “Sometimes, it is”, Kevin says “The daily patrols may be done on your own, but at other times you attend an intruder alarm call with a colleague. When you check in you get to catch up with your colleagues so you really do feel you’re a part of a small team”

Kevin joined Securitas from a local security company: “In my previous job we relied heavily on paper however on my first day at Securitas my manager handed me a personal digital assistant device (PDA) and trained me how to use it. All our jobs are saved on the PDA, the dashboard is interactive, it contains maps and allows us to send immediate reports to clients – it makes my work so much more efficient.”
