We ensure the correct action is taken following a alarm call-out, such as resetting the alarm or depending on the situation contacting the emergency services. You can ensure you'r fully prepared in the event of an emergency.
Part of an overall security solution
Our alarm response service works best when combined with our dedicated keyholding service. That’s because if we don’t have access to your site, our officer will need to meet one of your existing keyholders in order to investigate the alarm. As a trusted keyholder for your business, we’ll securely hold a set of keys to your site, which our officers can use to gain access when responding to alarm activations, or if you’d like us to carry out regular security patrols.Find out more about our Keyholding service

An alarm response system means there is a security professional at the other end keeping track of your premises. An unmonitored security system is (simply put) a noise-maker. It might be a deterrent for bad agents, but you or your people will need to be available to respond to every trigger… a fire or flood won’t be put off by harsh sounds alone. An alarm response system makes your security service aware of an alarm trigger event. Once alerted they will attend the site to check all possible entry and hiding points and prepare a report on that alarm activation.
Alarm activation simply means that your alarm has been set off. There are many reasons why your alarm system may be triggered. Luckily, it doesn't always mean that there has been any criminal activity but unfortunately, it does mean you may have to make time consuming an unnecessary journeys to reset a false alarm.
If a second alarm signal is received this may indicate that a second sensor has been tripped and confirms movement. This is known as a "confirmed alarm activation".
Keyholding takes your alarm response and monitoring system one step further giving your security partner access to the building to complete a full sweep and take any action required. Alarm response services work best when combined with a dedicated keyholding service. That’s because without access to your site, officers will need to meet one of your existing keyholders in order to investigate the alarm - a disruptive and unwanted journey that you needn’t worry about. As keyholder for your business, we will hold a set of keys to your site, which officers can use to gain access when responding to alarm activations.
Contrary to popular belief, Police response alarms are NOT DIRECTLY connected to the police.
Police response alarms are connected to us via the Securitas operation centre (SOC) in exactly the same way that monitored alarms and CCTV surveillance are connected. When an alarm is triggered, our operator is notified and will assess the activation and respond accordingly.
The local police authority are only informed if the SOC receives a second alarm signal from the property, indicating that a second sensor has been tripped, confirming movement within the property. This is known as "confirmed alarm activation".
